But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamish Bryce couldn't finish the play. Keith McGilroy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josh McGugan was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Cupar City booed when Tayport was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Wright didn't get a good kick on the ball. Theo Dunbar, 91 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 93 minutes, Hamish Bryce made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Cupar City's Kieran Forester tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Cupar City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cupar City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
