The supporters of Lochailort booed when Banff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Dowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Owen Currie did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Owen Risk 44 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Innes McCorkill to make the kick off. Banff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theo McGeoch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Banff's goal looked a bit too open when Innes McCorkill came free, but Kyle Dowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
