Spectators: 7743 (Terracing: 5809, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) When Alistair Green fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored William Wallace FC's protests and gave Alistair Green a yellow card for diving instead. The Broxburn City fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Broxburn City's Shaun McKintosh looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If John Ferson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Wallace FC's Scott McColman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shaun McKintosh in the 9th minute of play. Shaun McKintosh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Scott McColman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. John Ferson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to William Wallace FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Chris Robson hit a great ball. Samuel McTier was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 28th minute. William Wallace FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 34th minute, but Gregor McCaig got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Broxburn City hanging dry this time. After 35 played minutes Broxburn City got a freekick which was hit by Terry Fletcher. In the 44th minute, William Wallace FC's Alistair Green ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gregor McCaig. Gregor McCaig yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Shaun McKintosh made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Shaun McKintosh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Broxburn City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shaun McKintosh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Terence Addy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gregor McCaig. Broxburn City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. John Ferson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Scott McColman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Scott McColman didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 72nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. John Ferson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Broxburn City's Shaun McKintosh got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Samuel McTier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregor McCaig. Broxburn City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuel McTier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 84 minutes of play William Wallace FC's Alistair Green was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. John Ferson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. William Wallace FC's Scott McColman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shaun McKintosh in the 87th minute of play. John Fersons short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Scott McColman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Samuel McTier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordan Watt in the 92nd minute of play forced Broxburn City's goalkeeper Gregor McCaig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregor McCaig came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by William Wallace FC's Jordan Watt. But to his dismay, Jordan Watt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Shaun McKintosh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. William Wallace FC had won after a very even match.
