Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kyle Finlayson started the match with the kick off. Portugal Sporting Blue's Robbie McBheath proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal Sporting Blue from getting a goal against them. In the 6th minute, Joshua McThomas had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The supporters of Biggar FC booed when Portugal Sporting Blue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob McGilledon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th match minute, Biggar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant McLaws to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Ronan Spittel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danny McPhadden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronan Spittel in the 14th minute of play. If Alisdair McIlvain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th match minute, Biggar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taylor Laidlaw to maneuver through the defense. Biggar FC's Jim Alsop managed to work through Portugal Sporting Blue's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jim Alsop dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Timmy McDuffie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biggar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Timmy McDuffie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robbie McBheath breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Taylor Laidlaw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie McBheath having to interfere. Jim Alsops short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Robbie McBheath to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Jim Alsop put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Robbie McBheath. Robbie McBheath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jim Alsop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alisdair McIlvain struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Danny McPhadden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal Sporting Blue. 47 minutes into the game, Kyle Finlayson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Biggar FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal Sporting Blue the free kick. Kyle Finlayson kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 50th minute of the match Portugal Sporting Blue got a corner. Biggar FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tom Fowler ran over to the corner to take the kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alisdair McIlvain to make the kick off. Portugal Sporting Blue's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tom Fowler in the 58th minute. The corner led Portugal Sporting Blue's Barry McCrimmor to fire away a dangerous shot which Danny McPhadden despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Portugal Sporting Blue getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jacob McGilledon hit a great ball. Robbie McBheath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Alsop in the 65th minute of play. Robbie McBheath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Alsop in the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Portugal Sporting Blue booed when Biggar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taylor Laidlaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jim Alsop charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jim Alsop the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jim Alsop hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Kyle Finlayson hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Robbie McBheath didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jim Alsop went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Robbie McBheath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Alsop, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronan Spittel got free with Danny McPhadden in the 99th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Biggar FC's Jim Alsop got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Biggar FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal Sporting Blue had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
