Spectators: 6774 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ter Dempster started the match with the kick off. After having played for 4 minutes, Darren Docharty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wigtown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darren Docharty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Marc Dochart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rory McChlery was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After having played for 8 minutes, Eric Currie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achnasheen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Currie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arthur McKellar hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes, Achnasheen's Neil McPherson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Shane Cumin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Achnasheen reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Currie in the 16th minute of play forced Wigtown's goalkeeper Shane Cumin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Currie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Cumin having to interfere. A hard shot 24 in the game by Darren Docharty from a close distance when the talented Rory McChlery managed to make a qualified save. Achnasheen's players were relieved. Darren Docharty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marc Dochart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Eric Currie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rory McChlery made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Docharty in the 36th minute. Thomas Askey charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomas Askey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th match minute, Wigtown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Askey to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marc Dochart to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Marc Dochart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rory McChlery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Dochart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rory McChlery read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Wigtown's Darren Docharty got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute of the match Achnasheen got a corner. Wigtown's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Neil McPherson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Shane Cumin made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Eric Currie sent off a good shot on target. If Eric Currie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wigtown's Marc Dochart got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wigtown's Shane Cumin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ter Dempster in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Achnasheen's Eric Currie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shane Cumin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rory McChlery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darren Docharty in the 80th minute of the match. Shane Cumin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ter Dempster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 83 played minutes Achnasheen got a freekick which was hit by Robbie McVurie. Rory McChlery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Docharty, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Ter Dempster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Wigtown got a freekick which was hit by Arthur McKellar. If Marc Dochart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Achnasheen's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
