The supporters of Westhill booed when Banchory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calum McRaith didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 minutes of play, Westhill's Roy Lombard made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Euan Caddell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brandon Parlane charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brandon Parlane the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Westhill's Brandon Parlane got a free kick in the 18th minute. Gus McNee hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Robert McNair managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banchory's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert McNair was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jake Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute Wal McCamie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Euan Caddell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicol Pinkerton in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jake Blake prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jake Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert McNair in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Gus McNee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westhill and the Banchory players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes Westhill got a freekick which was hit by Gus McNee. After 33 played minutes Westhill got a freekick which was hit by Brian Harvey. In the 43rd minute Nicol Pinkerton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert McNair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jake Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wal McCamie made a kick off. Jake Blake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicol Pinkerton in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Nicol Pinkerton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Blake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Lombard took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Euan Caddell. Euan Caddell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Euan Caddell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wal McCamie, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Jake Blake made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Robert McNair sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Nicol Pinkerton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jake Blake was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Banchory's Robert McNair got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roy Lombard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Euan Caddell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gary Barbour's late challenge caught a Banchory's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gary Barbour helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 89 minutes, Roy Lombard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westhill's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Lombard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Westhill were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Banchory for a fine match.
