In the 18th minute, Hamish Appleton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cöblez United's Finlay Hutchison got a free kick in the 19th minute. The audience was convinced that Rick Smith's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robert McDonachie was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. 28 minutes into the match, Tom Duncanson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter McHarold. Campbeltown City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tom Duncanson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 36 minutes into the match, Rick Smith had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert McDonachie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rick Clayton was the one to do the kick off. Campbeltown City's Peter McHarold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Clayton in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Duncanson in the 57th minute of play forced Campbeltown City's goalkeeper Peter McHarold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Campbeltown City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Malcolm to maneuver through the defense. Gary McGilvernock, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rick Clayton in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter McHarold prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rick Clayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter McHarold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Duncanson in the 67th minute of the match. Lucas McKendrick's late challenge caught a Campbeltown City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas McKendrick helped the player get up and apologised. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cöblez United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jack Burnes was slow to take the kick. During this time Campbeltown City's players had a chance to rest. Wayne McPhedron made a great header on Campbeltown City's corner, it was just that Cöblez United's Robert McDonachie managed to reach the ball for a save. Hamish Appleton's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Robert McDonachie skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Simon Monzie charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Monzie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robert McDonachie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Smith in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Hamish Appleton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Campbeltown City had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
