Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rick Clayton took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Duncanson got free with Max Beath in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lucas McConnach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tom Duncanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Beath having to interfere. Rick Clayton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Max Beath tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Beith United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cöblez United:s goal. Keith McNuir fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert McDonachie having to interfere. Keith McNuir kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 26 minutes of play, Cöblez United's Tom Duncanson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Max Beath was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tom Duncanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Beath having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cöblez United's goalkeeper Robert McDonachie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Beith United's zone, Tom Duncanson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Max Beath came out of the goal and Tom Duncanson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tom Duncanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Beath having to interfere. Rick Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Beath having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Rick Clayton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cöblez United's Miles Aldridge got a free kick in the 71st minute. Robert McDonachie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas McConnach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Keith McNuir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Cöblez United's goalkeeper Robert McDonachie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keith McNuir. The supporters of Cöblez United booed when Beith United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Howie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes, Cöblez United's Gary McGilvernock shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Max Beath came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cöblez United reached it. The audience was convinced that Rick Clayton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Max Beath was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cöblez United had won after a very even match.
