Spectators: 6789 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1789, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ivan Jamieson took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Gorbals United's Ivan Jamieson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greg Bunten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Greg Bunten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Jamieson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Ciaran McRobb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lasswade's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciaran McRobb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alistair McInroy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lasswade's Greg Bunten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Jamieson in the 14th minute of play. If Ivan Jamieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gorbals United booed when Lasswade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harold McIlwraith didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute of the match Alex Dyce sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Greg Bunten skillfully saved the ball. Gorbals United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alex Dyce in the 20th minute. Gorbals United's Alex Dyce was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Greg Bunten in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 22 minutes into the match, Lasswade's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Jamieson came free, but Greg Bunten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Lasswade defense, Ivan Jamieson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Greg Bunten. The Lasswade fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Greg Bunten should have stopped the shot. Greg Bunten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Basnett in the 37th minute of the match. Greg Bunten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek McRurie in the 41st minute of play. After 42 minutes, Ciaran McRobb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lasswade and the Gorbals United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Lasswade got a freekick which was hit by Ciaran McRobb. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Ciaran McRobb made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Ciaran McRobb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alistair McInroy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Jamieson struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Greg Bunten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorbals United. When Ivan Jamieson came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Gorbals United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Jamieson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Gorbals United booed when Lasswade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gareth Carlyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Derek McRurie got free with Greg Bunten in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greg Bunten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lloyd McDonnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Ivan Jamieson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Greg Bunten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute of the match, Ivan Jamieson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Greg Bunten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ivan Jamieson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Bunten having to interfere. Cameron McBeolain hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Ivan Jamieson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gorbals United's Derek McRurie got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gorbals United played a much better game than Lasswade and deserved their victory. The Lasswade players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
