Shane Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, James Cunningham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Frank Duffus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shane Gray was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Dougal Davison kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Darius McKeochan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, one of Stirling Football Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stirling Football Club. When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, Kelso's Gareth Nish got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ricky Yuill. Bradley McLaren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bradley McLaren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricky Yuill came out and tried to block the shot, but Bradley McLaren slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 39th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Stirling Football Club's zone, Daniel McSporran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricky Yuill came out of the goal and Daniel McSporran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Duffus to strike the kick off in the second half. If Daniel McSporran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. James Cunningham hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Gareth Nish, 62 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 65th minute, Daniel McSporran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute Bradley McLaren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Yuill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradley McLaren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ricky Yuill was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Kelso's Bradley McLaren got a free kick in the 76th minute. Ricky Yuill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradley McLaren, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ricky Yuill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradley McLaren in the 88th minute of the match. If Bradley McLaren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Graeme Abrahams's late challenge caught a Kelso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graeme Abrahams helped the player get up and apologised. After 91 played minutes Stirling Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Abrahams. Stirling Football Club's Ricky Yuill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel McSporran in the 92nd minute of play. Graeme Abrahams struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Shane Gray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stirling Football Club. Kelso's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
