Spectators: 6796 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1796, VIP seats: 0) Peterhead AFC's Douglas Mark started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peterhead AFC's Timothy McKerlich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond McCammond in the 2nd minute of play. When Aberdeen FC's Thomas Fyfe in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Peterhead AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Thomas Fyfe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Thomas Fyfe sped through Peterhead AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Timothy McKerlich. Douglas Mark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Thomas Fyfe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Raymond McCammond ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timothy McKerlich was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 29 minutes, Douglas Mark managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peterhead AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Mark was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Nathan McCrae hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 34 minutes, Raymond McCammond managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aberdeen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond McCammond was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicky McIock hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Peterhead AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Raymond McCammond came free, but Timothy McKerlich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Peterhead AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Aberdeen FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Fyfe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thomas Fyfe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy McKerlich having to interfere. The supporters of Aberdeen FC booed when Peterhead AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angus McKerracher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raymond McCammond could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Timothy McKerlich made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Thomas Fyfe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Timothy McKerlich. That made the score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. Timothy McKerlich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Fyfe, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Thomas Fyfe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Thomas Fyfe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timothy McKerlich was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Rick Suttie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Mark's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Nigel Dobson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cameron Wallace fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rick Suttie having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Cameron Wallace got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Douglas Mark in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rick Suttie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Fyfe in the 90th minute of play forced Peterhead AFC's goalkeeper Timothy McKerlich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Peterhead AFC's Iain Allanson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Iain Allanson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Peterhead AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Iain Allanson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 97 minutes into the game, one of Peterhead AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Aberdeen FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
