Spectators: 6807 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1807, VIP seats: 0) Grangemouth AFC's Josh Gibb started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the game, Duncan McHendrie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lockerbie United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grangemouth AFC the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Lockerbie United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duncan McHendrie to maneuver through the defense. After 10 played minutes, Grangemouth AFC's Jamie Bowie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fergus Abbot came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grangemouth AFC reached it. Jordan McVey made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Roddie McKeachan sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Lockerbie United booed when Grangemouth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric McWilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jordan McVey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roddie McKeachan in the 21st minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Grangemouth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eric McWilliam. Raymond Lindsay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raymond Lindsay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Gibb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Fergus Abbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roddie McKeachan to strike the kick off in the second half. Jason McNamell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jordan McVey having to make a save. 54 minutes into the game, Anthony Brieve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grangemouth AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lockerbie United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Grangemouth AFC's Anthony Brieve got a free kick in the 54th minute. Lockerbie United's Roddie McKeachan got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 58 minutes, Craig Christie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grangemouth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Christie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jordan McVey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Purcell, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Fergus Abbot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josh Gibb in the 73rd minute of the match. Roddie McKeachan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jordan McVey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute Josh Gibb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Abbot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jason McNamell scored 1-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jordan McVey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Raymond Lindsay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fergus Abbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josh Gibb in the 98th minute of play forced Lockerbie United's goalkeeper Fergus Abbot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lockerbie United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
