With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciaran McLintock in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordan McVey saved Grangemouth AFC from getting behind. After 12 played minutes Ellon AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ciaran McLintock. With a little luck, Ellon AFC's Greg McEol got control of the ball when Raymond Lindsay tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Josh Gibb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Greg McEol was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 19th minute, Raymond Lindsay fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Keith McCodrum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The wind increased when Keith McCodrum made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Grangemouth AFC booed when Ellon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan McNamell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greg McEol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josh Gibb in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 57th minute Josh Gibb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg McEol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Grangemouth AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ellon AFC:s goal. Gareth McNiter shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 99th match minute, Grangemouth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric McWilliam to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
