With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sid Meine in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordan McVey saved Grangemouth AFC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Josh Gibb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grangemouth AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Josh Gibb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Hendrie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Craig Christie during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Craig Christie hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Frank Hendrie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond Lindsay in the 43rd minute of the match. Josh Gibb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Hendrie having to interfere. Frank Hendrie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Gibb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sid Meine to make the kick off. Jordan McVey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Tolmie in the 52nd minute of the match. Frank Hendrie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josh Gibb in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Josh Gibb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Hendrie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aaron Tolmie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Grangemouth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Craig Christie to maneuver through the defense. Stephen Sorely took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jordan McVey. Grangemouth AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Lockerbie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Connor Wilkinson to maneuver through the defense. Raymond Lindsay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Hendrie having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Grangemouth AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Tolmie came free, but Jordan McVey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
