Spectators: 6799 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1799, VIP seats: 0) Keith McCodrum started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Greg McEol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roddie McKeachan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Keith McCodrum hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, Jason McNamell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jason McNamell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Greg McEol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gareth Ellis during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gareth Ellis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Keith McCodrum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ellon AFC's Ciaran McLintock got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McCodrum in the 19th minute of play forced Lockerbie United's goalkeeper Fergus Abbot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duncan McHendrie kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Duncan McHendrie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Roddie McKeachan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Greg McEol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Lockerbie United's Frank Purcell got a free kick in the 29th minute. Jason McNamell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roddie McKeachan might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Greg McEol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roddie McKeachan ran back to his position shaking his head. Jason McNamell struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Greg McEol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lockerbie United. Greg McEol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason McNamell in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes in the game, Ciaran McLintock fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fergus Abbot having to interfere. Fergus Abbot was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Keith McCodrum capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Keith McCodrum really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Ciaran McLintock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jordan McNamell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Roddie McKeachan made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Keith McCodrum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Abbot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Keith McCodrum cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fergus Abbot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Keith McCodrum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ellon AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Keith McCodrum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fergus Abbot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ciaran McLintock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ellon AFC's zone, Roddie McKeachan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg McEol came out of the goal and Roddie McKeachan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Ciaran McLintock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fergus Abbot was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Roddie McKeachan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lockerbie United's Fergus Abbot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith McCodrum in the 73rd minute of play. After 74 played minutes Lockerbie United got a freekick which was hit by Duncan McHendrie. In the 75th minute, Frank Purcell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Keith McCodrum, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Fergus Abbot was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Roddie McKeachan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Greg McEol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Keith McCodrum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robbie Mennie hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Murray Bean, 97 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
