Owen McDermid made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Alex Sharp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fergus Abbot was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Lockerbie United's Fergus Abbot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phillip McLehose in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Roddie McKeachan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Owen McDermid, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roddie McKeachan in the 17th minute of play forced Glasgow Dublins FC's goalkeeper Owen McDermid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glasgow Dublins FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Roddie McKeachan 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. If Roddie McKeachan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason McNamell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Owen McDermid having to make a save. Fergus Abbot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donald McVail, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Lockerbie United booed when Glasgow Dublins FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard McBrieve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fergus Abbot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donald McVail's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roddie McKeachan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Glasgow Dublins FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Sharp to maneuver through the defense. During the 57th minute of the match Alex Sharp completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alex Sharp a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Alex Sharp hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute of the match Murray Bean shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Owen McDermid showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes Glasgow Dublins FC got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Colyear. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phillip McLehose got free with Fergus Abbot in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Lockerbie United's Roddie McKeachan fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 5-0 came in the 69th minute when Murray Bean all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Owen McDermid. In the 76th minute, Richard McBrieve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute of the match Murray Bean shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Owen McDermid showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Owen McDermid stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jason McNamell's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Lucas Colyear kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Roddie McKeachan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen McDermid having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Glasgow Dublins FC's Donald McVail got a free kick in the 88th minute. Fergus Abbot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phillip McLehose in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute, Lockerbie United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Phillip McLehose fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lockerbie United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Glasgow Dublins FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
