In the 19th minute, Ryan McLeister left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Emily Soccer FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Emily Soccer FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Gilfillan came free, but Mike McGaw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan McGillegowie hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the match, Emily Soccer FC's Chris McCorrie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theo McSween narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Quentin McBride struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Mike McGaw didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tarbert FC. If Ivan Gilfillan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nathan Cavanagh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo McSween having to interfere. Theo McSween took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ryan McLeister, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Gilfillan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Mike McGaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tarbert FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Emily Soccer FC.
