A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 17thth minute of the game Tim Lawrence who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emily Soccer FC's Mike McGaw was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Innes Swanson came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Linlithgow AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Innes Swanson couldn't finish the play. In the 24thth minute of the game Innes Swanson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Emily Soccer FC's Mike McGaw was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mike McGaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Lawrence, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Innes Swanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike McGaw having to interfere. If Tim Lawrence had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mike McGaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Innes Swanson in the 31st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Linlithgow AFC's zone, James Alistair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricky Swanson came out of the goal and James Alistair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 39 played minutes Linlithgow AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Cleland. Emily Soccer FC's James Alistair got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

An unexpectedly hard shot by James Alistair in the 53rd minute of play forced Linlithgow AFC's goalkeeper Ricky Swanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricky Swanson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Alistair, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Emily Soccer FC's Ryan McLeister sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricky Swanson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Cavanagh during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Emily Soccer FC's Nathan Cavanagh got a free kick in the 90th minute. The Emily Soccer FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Linlithgow AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Linlithgow AFC.
