The House Of Cards FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phillip Donachie should have stopped the shot. When Ryan McLeister fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emily Soccer FC's protests and gave Ryan McLeister a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind House Of Cards FC's goalkeeper Phillip Donachie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emily Soccer FC were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after House Of Cards FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chris McCorrie took the corner. James Alistair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Phillip Donachie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When James Alistair came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Emily Soccer FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Alistair couldn't finish the play. After 20 minutes, James Alistair mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Emily Soccer FC and the House Of Cards FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Emily Soccer FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James Alistair to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, James Alistair cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Phillip Donachie was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 27 minutes, Norman Corstorphine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the House Of Cards FC and the Emily Soccer FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. James Alistair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lewis McGugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mike McGaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for James Alistair to strike the kick off in the second half. Emily Soccer FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryan McLeister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phillip Donachie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Phillip Donachie managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Emily Soccer FC's Ryan McLeister fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. House Of Cards FC's Phillip Donachie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Alistair in the 57th minute of play. After 58 minutes of play House Of Cards FC's Norman Corstorphine was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Phillip Donachie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Alistair, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. House Of Cards FC's Phillip Donachie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save House Of Cards FC from getting a goal against them. Ryan McLeister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Donachie having to interfere. Phillip Donachie came out of the goal and James Alistair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phillip Donachie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Alistair in the 86th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Emily Soccer FC's Ryan McLeister nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Phillip Donachie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6.
