Charles Forster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With his leg Bob McIlvain managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Caesarians's Richard McTaggart fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Perth booed when Caesarians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jake Eadie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charles Forster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Davies in the 30th minute of play. Simon McNaughton struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Charles Forster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perth. Caesarians's Charles Forster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Davies in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Perth booed when Caesarians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard McTaggart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lloyd Davies made a kick off. Murray McNeilage hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Bob McIlvain came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Caesarians's Dean Fairley. But to his dismay, Dean Fairley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Bob McIlvain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dean Fairley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bob McIlvain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard McTaggart's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Wayne Beaton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lloyd Davies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Perth's Lloyd Davies got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Charles Forster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Davies in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Lloyd Davies recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Charles Forster. Lloyd Davies showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Charles Forster showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lloyd Davies, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Lloyd Davies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard McTaggart struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Bob McIlvain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caesarians. In the 93rdth minute of the game Richard McTaggart who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perth's Bob McIlvain was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lloyd Davies in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Forster prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Perth's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
