Gordon McHarold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dominic McKinven showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dean Fairley, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Richard McTaggart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic McKinven having to interfere. Dominic McKinven stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard McTaggart's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Caesarians's zone, Gus Hobson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Forster came out of the goal and Gus Hobson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jake Eadie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dominic McKinven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Saint Johnstone FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry McCarter to maneuver through the defense. Caesarians's Dean Fairley got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saint Johnstone FC's Dominic McKinven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Fairley in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Caesarians's goalkeeper Charles Forster had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gordon McHarold. Gus Hobson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jake Eadie kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Blair McGuffie, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a little luck, Caesarians's Charles Forster got control of the ball when Gordon McHarold tried to sneak it across the goal line. The attack was good, but when Gus Hobson in the 39th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard McTaggart in the 43rd minute of play forced Saint Johnstone FC's goalkeeper Dominic McKinven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gus Hobson to strike the kick off in the second half. Dean Fairley was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Caesarians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 58th match minute, Caesarians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Eadie to maneuver through the defense. Charles Forster came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Saint Johnstone FC's Gordon McHarold. But to his dismay, Gordon McHarold quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 66th minute, Gordon McHarold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard McTaggart in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dominic McKinven, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Richard McTaggart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dean Fairley was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Caesarians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Richard McTaggart in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dominic McKinven, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Richard McTaggarts short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Dominic McKinven to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 93 minutes into the match, Saint Johnstone FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Fairley came free, but Dominic McKinven reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gus Hobson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charles Forster read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
