In the 4th minute, Dominic Hallyard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dominic McKinven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Hallyard in the 8th minute of play. Saint Johnstone FC's Dominic McKinven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominic Hallyard in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Edinburgh Pirates AFC's zone, Gus Hobson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joshua McGruer came out of the goal and Gus Hobson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Saint Johnstone FC booed when Edinburgh Pirates AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elliot McKelvie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joshua McGruer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
