John McJames made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Ronnie Ogilvy sent off a good shot on target. If Jacob McKinning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob McKinning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joe Grieve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom McCutchen in the 18th minute of play. If Jacob McKinning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob McKinning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. John McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Jacob McKinning ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John McJames was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris McGilp to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Jacob McKinning managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campbeltown's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacob McKinning was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John McJames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, Forfar's Chris McGilp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joe Grieve narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Forfar's Chris McGilp dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Forfar's goalkeeper John McJames, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Jacob McKinning came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Campbeltown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob McKinning couldn't finish the play. Ronnie Ogilvy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John McJames having to interfere. Campbeltown's Joe Grieve proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Campbeltown from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Josh McRory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Campbeltown's goal looked a bit too open when Chris McGilp came free, but Joe Grieve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute Chris McGilp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Grieve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Campbeltown were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Forfar for a fine match.
