After 27 minutes of play, Humbie's Phil Skinner made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tyler Spittel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tyler Spittel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reece McHendrie in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Stonehaven AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Findlater to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute Charlie Ewing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gareth McQuartie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Stonehaven AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Humbie were winning 0-1.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stonehaven AFC's goalkeeper Tyler Spittel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd match minute, Humbie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevie Fergus to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, William Barton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stonehaven AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but William Barton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gareth McQuartie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, Humbie's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Ewing came free, but Gareth McQuartie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phil Skinner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If William Barton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 80 minutes into the match, Stonehaven AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Reece McHendrie came free, but Tyler Spittel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game William Barton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Humbie's Gareth McQuartie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Humbie's Gareth McQuartie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Barton in the 86th minute of play. William Barton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gareth McQuartie having to interfere. When William Barton came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Stonehaven AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Barton couldn't finish the play.
