Spectators: 6811 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1811, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ricky McIlrevie made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Charles Clark managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mauchline's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Clark was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Noble breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally McAndrew in the 11th minute of play forced Mauchline's goalkeeper Christopher Morgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ron Duncan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute, Wally McAndrew left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stevenston fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Frankie Stringer kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. David Noble made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Charles Clark sent off a good shot on target. If Charles Clark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauchline's Charles Clark got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Charles Clark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Charles Clark got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Mauchline booed when Stevenston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor McGown didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gregor McGown hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. David Noble was a little too slow when Ricky McIlrevie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ron Duncan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wally McAndrew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Morgan having to interfere. Ron Duncan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the game, Stevenston's Wally McAndrew nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christopher Morgan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 62 minutes into the match, Mauchline's goalkeeper Christopher Morgan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wally McAndrew. Ricky McIlrevie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Noble having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Charlie Duthie made a precise shot to the right of David Noble. Stevenston's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Mauchline's Craig Coutts got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ricky McIlrevie came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Mauchline fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricky McIlrevie couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Stevenston's Phil Robson got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Ron Duncan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ricky McIlrevie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the game, Edmond Ronald was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stevenston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mauchline the free kick. In the 88th minute of the match, Ron Duncan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Christopher Morgan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wally McAndrew recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Mauchline. Daniel Beadle stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Noble. 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Stevenston players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mauchline.
