In the 18th minute Rob McGillegowie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyler McMunn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes Brzeszcze got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Castle. After 26 played minutes, Leven's Ryan Philipson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tyler McMunn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leven reached it. Calum Buckley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tyler McMunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tony Cousland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Timothy Gowan came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Leven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timothy Gowan couldn't finish the play. Leven's Calum Buckley got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robin Barnes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robin Barnes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Brzeszcze got a freekick which was hit by Robin Barnes. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tony Cousland was the one to do the kick off. In the 74th minute, Leven's Rob McGillegowie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tyler McMunn. Tyler McMunn yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Ryan Philipson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tyler McMunn. Brzeszcze's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alex Adair might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronnie McKinnon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alex Adair ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugh Castle hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the game, Marc Forstar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leven's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brzeszcze the free kick. A collision led to Leven getting a freekick after 85 minutes play.
