Spectators: 6814 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rob McGillegowie took the kick off in the first half of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Earlston City's goal looked a bit too open when Rob McGillegowie came free, but James Gillespie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joseph McAchounich took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronnie McKinnon. Leven's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Marc Forstar kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Calum Buckley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but James Gillespie made a huge save. Earlston City's Robbie Gibson got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marc Forstar's late challenge caught a Earlston City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marc Forstar helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Leven got a freekick which was hit by Marc Forstar. When Calum Buckley came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Leven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calum Buckley couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute Robbie Gibson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie McKinnon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calum Buckley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. James Gillespie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Calum Buckley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Calum Buckley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Gillespie having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicol McCabe to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Robbie Gibson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Timothy Gowan kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Rob McGillegowie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Earlston City's goal looked a bit too open when Calum Buckley came free, but James Gillespie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Earlston City's James Gillespie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calum Buckley in the 64th minute of play. When Marc Forstar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. In the 72nd match minute, Leven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Forstar to maneuver through the defense. Graeme Ashmore's shot from long distance in the 73rd minute was not bad at all, but Leven's Ronnie McKinnon knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rob McGillegowie during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Rob McGillegowie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the game, Robbie Gibson lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Ronnie McKinnon. Nicol McCabe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rob McGillegowie hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute Earlston City were awarded a corner. Graeme Ashmore went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Graeme Ashmore got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ronnie McKinnon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Leven's Ronnie McKinnon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicol McCabe in the 89th minute of play. The Leven supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Earlston City's performance. The match ended with a win for Earlston City.
