Thomas Alderson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob McGillegowie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wick's Thomas Alderson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Wick from getting a goal against them. After having played for 27 minutes, Calum Buckley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calum Buckley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rob McGillegowie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Alderson having to interfere. Leven's Ronnie McKinnon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus McCansh in the 32nd minute of play. Calum Buckley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Thomas Alderson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Alderson made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Calum Buckley sent off a good shot on target. If Marcus McCansh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Marcus McCansh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Alderson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob McGillegowie in the 66th minute of play. Rob McGillegowie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Alderson having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Malcolm Durrant shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie McKinnon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcus McCansh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie McKinnon having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wick fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! If Calum Buckley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Wick players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Leven.
