When Derek Monach fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Plockton's protests and gave Derek Monach a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Plockton's Derek Monach got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 5th match minute, Ballygrant FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Morton to maneuver through the defense. Jim Lambie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith McAslan in the 6th minute of the match. Joshua Morton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Keith McAslan came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Plockton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith McAslan couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute Greg McKeggie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Cumin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Ballygrant FC's Adam Kennedy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jake McWalter. Jake McWalter yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a little luck, Plockton's Jake McWalter got control of the ball when Adam Kennedy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robert Cumin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jake McWalter having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Plockton's zone, Robert Cumin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake McWalter came out of the goal and Robert Cumin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jake McWalter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Cumin in the 42nd minute of the match. Greg McKeggie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jim Lambie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McAslan in the 47th minute of play forced Ballygrant FC's goalkeeper Jim Lambie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Greg McKeggie to make the kick off. Adam Kennedy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Plockton getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Derek Monach hit a great ball. Robert Cumin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robert Cumin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Cumin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Jake McWalter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Plockton got a freekick which was hit by Derek Monach. If Robert Cumin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Adam Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert Cumin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jake McWalter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 89th minute Greg McKeggie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Lambie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Cumin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jake McWalter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Ballygrant FC were the better team. Ballygrant FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
