Stephen McCormick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle McCowan in the 22nd minute of the match. Greg Harper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremy Leitch in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute Irvin McGhie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Harper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greg Harper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irvin McGhie, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Stephen McCormick was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mike Beresford showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 58 minute of play. Samuel McNeish hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of Stevenston booed when Ballachulish was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan McKellachie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mike Beresford might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stephen McCormick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mike Beresford ran back to his position shaking his head. If Irvin McGhie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The supporters of Stevenston booed when Ballachulish was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominic Mason didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Stevenston defense, Irvin McGhie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Greg Harper. The Stevenston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Greg Harper should have stopped the shot. The Stevenston players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
