Spectators: 6783 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) Terence McLugash started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Frank Forsyth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Munro Yuille tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute of the match Samuel McGrath shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tony McSorley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terence McLugash in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony McSorley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 20 minutes into the match, Biggar's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Lewis came free, but Munro Yuille reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Menstrie's Blair McKinley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Munro Yuille made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Biggar's zone, Brian Lewis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Munro Yuille came out of the goal and Brian Lewis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Biggar's Ricky McGilledon got a free kick in the 30th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edward Arrol during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 31 played minutes Biggar got a freekick which was hit by Edward Arrol. Biggar's Munro Yuille played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Forsyth in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Biggar's zone, Blair McKinley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Munro Yuille came out of the goal and Blair McKinley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Frank Forsyth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blair McKinley to make the kick off. Munro Yuille took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Forsyth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony McSorley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip Rome in the 54th minute of play. If Terence McLugash had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Biggar booed when Menstrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iain Ayres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Terence McLugash fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony McSorley having to interfere. Frank Forsyth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Munro Yuille made a huge save. Menstrie's Tony McSorley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence McLugash in the 63rd minute of play. If Frank Forsyth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th match minute, Biggar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky McGilledon to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blair McKinley in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Munro Yuille saved Biggar from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Terence McLugash got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ricky McGilledon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Biggar's Ricky McGilledon got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When Brian Lewis fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Menstrie's protests and gave Brian Lewis a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Menstrie's Brian Lewis got a free kick in the 94th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
