The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frank McMurchy kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Johnny McGilledon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Gorrie in the 10th minute of the match. Norman Gorrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Johnny McGilledon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnny McGilledon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Norman Gorrie's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ryan Beadle during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, ¢rคຊฯ ēງງ f¢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Beadle to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Reece McDuffie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hibernian F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Reece McDuffie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fergus Revie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reece McDuffie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Fergus Revie made a huge save. If Harry Wilkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 minutes, Edmond Kennedy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ¢rคຊฯ ēງງ f¢ and the Hibernian F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, ¢rคຊฯ ēງງ f¢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmond Kennedy to maneuver through the defense. If Harry Wilkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angus Guthrie kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Harry Wilkinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 played minutes ¢rคຊฯ ēງງ f¢ got a freekick which was hit by Angus Guthrie. Harry Wilkinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Revie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Fergus Revie successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Johnny McGilledon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam McPhedran, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Sam McPhedran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harry Wilkinson to make the kick off. Sam McPhedran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Johnny McGilledon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot by Stephen Saunders from long distance, 75 minutes into the match, got Johnny McGilledon's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Norman Gorrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Johnny McGilledon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fergus Revie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reece McDuffie in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th match minute, ¢rคຊฯ ēງງ f¢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie McLerie to maneuver through the defense. Harry Wilkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Revie having to interfere. Sam McPhedran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Johnny McGilledon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
