Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Terence McLugash kicked off to start the match. 8 minutes into the match, Carnoustie United's goal looked a bit too open when Terence McLugash came free, but Shaun Farquharson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Carnoustie United's Jimmy McGilbert got a free kick in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Phillip Rome managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biggar's supporters rose to their feet, but Phillip Rome was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shaun Farquharson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Terence McLugash fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shaun Farquharson, passed just outside the right post. Carnoustie United's Shaun Farquharson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence McLugash in the 17th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Biggar's Shaun Farquharson threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Terence McLugash, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ricky McGilledon kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Irvin Gillanders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Munro Yuille saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Munro Yuille showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irvin Gillanders in the 30th minute of the match. Phillip Rome fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaun Farquharson having to interfere. Terence McLugash struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Shaun Farquharson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Biggar. If Jimmy McGilbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irvin Gillanders in the 43rd minute of play forced Biggar's goalkeeper Munro Yuille to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Munro Yuille showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmy McGilbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irvin Gillanders made a kick off. When Phillip Rome came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Biggar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip Rome couldn't finish the play. If Phillip Rome had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Terence McLugash's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shaun Farquharson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. When Carnoustie United's Irvin Gillanders in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Biggar's goalie prevented a goal. In the 76th minute, Kenny McIlwhom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terence McLugash in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaun Farquharson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Phillip Rome fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaun Farquharson having to interfere. Irvin Gillanders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 92 minutes, Irvin Gillanders managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carnoustie United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Irvin Gillanders was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Irvin Gillanders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
