Reece McDuffie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony McSorley having to interfere. Harry Wilkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony McSorley having to interfere. Johnny McGilledon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blair McKinley in the 14th minute of play. Tony McSorley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Wilkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Johnny McGilledon was a little too slow when Blair McKinley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Blair McKinley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnny McGilledon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brian Lewis in the 36th minute of the match. When Frank Forsyth came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Menstrie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Forsyth couldn't finish the play. Blair McKinley struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Johnny McGilledon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Menstrie. After a rather tough play, Hibernian F.C.'s Alexander McDuff got a free kick in the 45th minute. Menstrie's Drew McMinn couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hibernian F.C.. When Blair McKinley came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Menstrie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blair McKinley couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harry Wilkinson made a kick off. When Reece McDuffie came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Hibernian F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reece McDuffie couldn't finish the play. Tony McSorley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Wilkinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Frank Forsyth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Menstrie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Forsyth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Forsyth in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Johnny McGilledon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Blair McKinley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reece McDuffie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony McSorley having to interfere. Reece McDuffie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johnny McGilledon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Forsyth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Hibernian F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Blair McKinley came free, but Johnny McGilledon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blair McKinley in the 89th minute of play forced Hibernian F.C.'s goalkeeper Johnny McGilledon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Forsyth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Blair McKinley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Menstrie fully deserved thier win.
