An unexpectedly hard shot by Miles McGhee in the 4th minute of play forced Cockburnspath's goalkeeper Tim Wilkinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Stuart Hawthorn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jordan Bean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cockburnspath's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugh Gilchrist in the 11th minute. Hugh Gilchrist made a great header on Cockburnspath's corner, it was just that Scotland's Jordan Bean managed to reach the ball for a save. Barry Meine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Tim Wilkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tim Wilkinson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Barry Meine showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Nathan Gowan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cockburnspath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scotland the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Miles McGhee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scotland's supporters rose to their feet, but Miles McGhee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tim Wilkinson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miles McGhee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tim Wilkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Cockburnspath's zone, Miles McGhee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Wilkinson came out of the goal and Miles McGhee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miles McGhee blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tim Wilkinson having to make a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miles McGhee stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Cockburnspath got a freekick which was hit by Liam McKimmie. In the 52nd match minute, Cockburnspath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh McComie to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Cockburnspath booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Deuchar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roddie Lindsay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordan Bean having to interfere. After 56 minutes, Miles Carruthers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Scotland and the Cockburnspath players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Miles Carruthers got a free kick in the 56th minute. Stuart Hawthorns short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Jordan Bean to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tim Wilkinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miles McGhee in the 61st minute of the match. Scotland's Jordan Bean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Scotland from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miles Carruthers to maneuver through the defense. Jordan Bean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roddie Lindsay, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Scotland's Miles Carruthers got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Miles Carruthers off the ground. A collision led to Scotland getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Miles Carruthers hit a great ball. Stuart Hawthorn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute Hugh McComie suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Walter Park charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walter Park the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Walter Park got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Cockburnspath booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miles McGhee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cockburnspath's Hugh Gilchrist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Scotland. Barry Meine took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tim Wilkinson. Tim Wilkinson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 92 minutes into the match, Scotland's Miles McGhee sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Wilkinson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barry Meine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Wilkinson having to interfere. Barry Meine struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Tim Wilkinson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scotland. When the referee ended the match the Scotland players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
