Glasgow Hornet Killers's Greig Train played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles McLergain in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Glasgow Hornet Killers's zone, Miles McLergain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greig Train came out of the goal and Miles McLergain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mark McPhorich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oliver McUlric had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Taylor McKissock got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 42 minutes, Miles McLergain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gorebridge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miles McLergain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Glasgow Hornet Killers's Ricky Carrick threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oliver McUlric, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Ricky Carrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver McUlric in the 52nd minute of the match. Mark McPhorich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Greig Train made a huge save. Rod McKinnell hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The supporters of Gorebridge United booed when Glasgow Hornet Killers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position.
