Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jeremy Stark kicked off to start the match. Tighnabruaich United's Shaun McCoull played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver McConnach in the 3rd minute of play. Shaun McCoull showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shane Bean, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremy Stark in the 6th minute of play forced Hamilton Academical F.C.'s goalkeeper Larry Booth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Clayton got free with Larry Booth in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Shane Bean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Shaun McCoull having to make a save. Jeremy Stark was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ben Clayton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hamilton Academical F.C.'s Larry Booth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Hamilton Academical F.C. from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Innes Findlayson during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ben Clayton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Larry Booth made a huge save. Ben Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliver McConnach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shaun McCoull having to interfere. Oliver McConnach might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shaun McCoull. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oliver McConnach ran back to his position shaking his head. If Oliver McConnach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ben Clayton came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Tighnabruaich United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ben Clayton couldn't finish the play. Larry Booth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Stark in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver McConnach to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremy Stark in the 56th minute of play forced Hamilton Academical F.C.'s goalkeeper Larry Booth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Greg McGillivray was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hamilton Academical F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tighnabruaich United the free kick. In the 65thth minute of the game Jeremy Stark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hamilton Academical F.C.'s Larry Booth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 67th minute, Oliver McConnach fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shaun McCoull, passed just outside the right post. Shane Bean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Ben Clayton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tighnabruaich United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Clayton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremy Stark in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Larry Booth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ben Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Ben Clayton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Booth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ben Clayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larry Booth having to interfere. Tighnabruaich United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hamilton Academical F.C. for a fine match.
