An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver McConnach in the 30th minute of play forced Mallaig FC's goalkeeper Joshua Kinnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Larry Booth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Thain in the 34th minute of play. If Ronan Cunningham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute Mike Thain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Booth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronan Cunningham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larry Booth having to interfere. When Andrew Donillson fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mallaig FC's protests and gave Andrew Donillson a yellow card for diving instead. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joshua Kinnell showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Mallaig FC fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Mallaig FC's Mike Thain looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Shane Bean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Kinnell having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Shane Bean had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joshua Kinnell. Mallaig FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shane Bean was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Angus Ferries struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Larry Booth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mallaig FC. Mike Thain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larry Booth having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Shane Bean managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hamilton Academical F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Shane Bean was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joshua Kinnell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mike Thain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronan Cunningham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Larry Booth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Thain in the 91st minute of play. Mallaig FC's Mike Thain managed to work through Hamilton Academical F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Mike Thain dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Hamilton Academical F.C.'s Innes Findlayson got his second yellow card of the match in the 97th minute. The referee ordered Innes Findlayson off the ground. Innes Findlayson kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. In the 103rd minute of the match Mallaig FC got a corner. Hamilton Academical F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oliver Meine ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mallaig FC's Oliver Meine to fire away a dangerous shot which Larry Booth despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hamilton Academical F.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Mallaig FC had controlled the match.
