The audience was convinced that Guy Scott's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremy McRaild was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ciaran McPhater made the kick off in the second half. Jeremy McRaild was a little too slow when Ciaran McPhater got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 59th minute, Lochailort's Guy Scott ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jeremy McRaild. Jeremy McRaild yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 63 minutes into the match, Wishaw City's goalkeeper Jeremy McRaild had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guy Scott. If Roddie McCall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Lochailort's Phil Skinner got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Roy Lees sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lochailort's Hugh McErracher didn't even have to move. If Jamie McKieson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roddie McCall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lochailort booed when Wishaw City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murray Kenneth didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Wally Stewart sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeremy McRaild skillfully saved the ball. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
