Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oliver McConnach scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hugh McErracher, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hamilton Academical F.C.! In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Lochailort. Wally Stewart stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Larry Booth. 1-1. Lochailort's Guy Scott got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Lochailort booed when Hamilton Academical F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregor Kinnell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Larry Booth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Scott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Larry Booth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciaran McPhater, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Scott in the 24th minute of play forced Hamilton Academical F.C.'s goalkeeper Larry Booth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shane Bean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugh McErracher having to interfere. Lochailort's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Oliver McConnach 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Oliver McConnach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Hugh McErracher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugh McErracher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver McConnach, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Terry Wilson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lochailort's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hamilton Academical F.C. the free kick. Shane Bean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Hugh McErracher made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver McConnach in the 52nd minute of play forced Lochailort's goalkeeper Hugh McErracher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Lochailort's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver McConnach came free, but Hugh McErracher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hamilton Academical F.C.'s Shane Bean in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Hugh McErracher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Bean in the 80th minute of the match. Lochailort's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
