In the 12th match minute, Tighnabruaich United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gus Ingram to maneuver through the defense. Tighnabruaich United's Shaun McCoull proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Tighnabruaich United from getting a goal against them. After 17 minutes, Andrew Donillson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mallaig FC and the Tighnabruaich United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andrew Donillson kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 20 minutes of play, Tighnabruaich United's Jeremy Stark made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joshua Kinnell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timothy Huntly charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timothy Huntly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mallaig FC's Timothy Huntly got a free kick in the 26th minute. Mallaig FC's Joshua Kinnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremy Stark in the 34th minute of play. Iain Ashmore hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Ben Clayton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joshua Kinnell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Jeremy Stark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 45 minutes, Ben Clayton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tighnabruaich United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Clayton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 played minutes Mallaig FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Donillson.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremy Stark to strike the kick off in the second half. Mallaig FC's Mike Thain got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Charles Beaton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Clayton got free with Joshua Kinnell in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Timothy Huntly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mallaig FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy Huntly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shaun McCoull breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Charles Beaton's late challenge caught a Mallaig FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Beaton helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Tighnabruaich United getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Charles Beaton hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Oliver Meine sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tighnabruaich United's Shaun McCoull didn't even have to move. In the 90th match minute, Tighnabruaich United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Austin to maneuver through the defense. Gus Ingram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Kinnell having to interfere. After 97 minutes of play Mallaig FC's Andrew Donillson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The Tighnabruaich United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tighnabruaich United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
