Seating: 1793, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Innes Miller made the kick off which started today's match. Jay Menzies hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes, Iain McKaskill mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cowes and the Latheron players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cowes! After a rather tough play, Cowes's Oliver Coultard got a free kick in the 16th minute. Mike Devlin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Innes Miller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mike Devlin came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Latheron's Innes Miller. But to his dismay, Innes Miller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Stuart McMaurice hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Latheron's Innes Miller got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Innes Miller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Devlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cowes's Ricky Hill in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Latheron's goalie prevented a goal. After 38 minutes, Graeme McKail mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Latheron and the Cowes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cowes booed when Latheron was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graeme McKail didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Latheron's goalkeeper George Ayson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cowes's Oliver Coultard pulled a muscle in his leg after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 41 minutes into the game, Stuart McMaurice was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Latheron's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cowes the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, Latheron was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stuart McMaurice to maneuver through the defense.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmond Lair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play Latheron's Graeme McKail was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Stuart McMaurice hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. George Ayson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmond Lair in the 85th minute of play. Edmond Lair hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronald Patrick during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Latheron had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
