Seating: 1767, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shane Gilchrist started the match with the kick off. Stevie Cleland's late challenge caught a Kirkcudbright AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stevie Cleland helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Glasgow United FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Stevie Cleland hit a great ball. In the 7th minute of the match Bradley Ogilvie shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Josh McGilbert showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Kirkcudbright AFC booed when Glasgow United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stevie Cleland didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Hugh McAldonich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Kirkcudbright AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John McEoin to maneuver through the defense. After 24 played minutes, Glasgow United FC's Bradley Ogilvie shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Josh McGilbert came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Glasgow United FC reached it. When Sean Raith came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Glasgow United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sean Raith couldn't finish the play. Duncan Duff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duncan Duff made a kick off. Taylor Greenlaw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Duff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Glasgow United FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eddie Burdon was slow to take the kick. During this time Kirkcudbright AFC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Eddie Burdon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Taylor Greenlaw quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hugh McAldonich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taylor Greenlaw having to interfere. John McEoin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Glasgow United FC's Stevie Cleland got his second yellow card of the match in the 60th minute. The referee ordered Stevie Cleland off the ground. Stevie Cleland kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkcudbright AFC's zone, Shane Gilchrist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josh McGilbert came out of the goal and Shane Gilchrist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taylor Greenlaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugh McAldonich, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Hugh McAldonich fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taylor Greenlaw having to interfere. Taylor Greenlaw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Duff in the 73rd minute of play. With a little luck, Kirkcudbright AFC's Josh McGilbert got control of the ball when Sean Raith tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Sean Raith managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glasgow United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean Raith was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josh McGilbert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Hugh McAldonich came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Kirkcudbright AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugh McAldonich couldn't finish the play. If Hugh McAldonich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the game, Bradley Ogilvie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Glasgow United FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirkcudbright AFC the free kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kirkcudbright AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Glasgow United FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
