Gary Jones struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. John Barnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kelty. Tim Gow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Barnes having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Max Mark in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Collier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 14 played minutes Kelty got a freekick which was hit by Tim Gow. After having played for 17 minutes, Tim Gow managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kelty's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Gow was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sid Gruer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. John Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 19 in the game by Tim Gow from a close distance when the talented John Barnes managed to make a qualified save. Banchory's players were relieved. 21 minutes into the match, Banchory's goalkeeper John Barnes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tim Gow. David Collier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Corbet in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Tim Gow left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kelty fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Max Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Banchory's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Gruer came free, but John Barnes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Max Mark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kelty's David Collier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. John Barnes was a little too slow when Sid Gruer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Kelty getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Sid Gruer hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sid Gruer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Max Mark's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Collier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Joseph McKinlay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciaran Tawesson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for David Collier. Kelty's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Max Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Barnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sid Gruer in the 67th minute of play. Sid Gruer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. John Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sid Gruer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Barnes having to interfere. If Max Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 87 minutes into the match, Kelty's goalkeeper David Collier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Max Mark. Adrian McIver could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but David Collier made a huge save. David Collier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph McKinlay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th match minute, Banchory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wayne Jones to maneuver through the defense. Kelty were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Banchory for a fine match.
