Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Max Mark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Taylor Greenlaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Banchory's Max Mark got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. John Barnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Lindsay, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Shane Gilchrist sped through Banchory's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of John Barnes. Tom Lindsay blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without John Barnes having to make a save. After 30 minutes of play, Glasgow United FC's Shane Gilchrist made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John Barnes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute, Tom Lindsay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Max Mark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taylor Greenlaw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph McKinlay in the 37th minute of play. When Adrian McIver fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Banchory's protests and gave Adrian McIver a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Banchory's Adrian McIver got a free kick in the 41st minute. John Barnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shane Gilchrist in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Glasgow United FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rob Buntain during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Glasgow United FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Rob Buntain hit a great ball. Taylor Greenlaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Mark, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54thth minute of the game Max Mark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glasgow United FC's Taylor Greenlaw was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Banchory's goalkeeper John Barnes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute Joseph McKinlay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taylor Greenlaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tom Lindsay in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Barnes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 61 minutes, Shane Gilchrist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glasgow United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shane Gilchrist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Max Mark left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Banchory fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 71st minute of the match Darren McBeth sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Barnes skillfully saved the ball. Ray Corbet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taylor Greenlaw having to interfere. Joseph McKinlay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Taylor Greenlaw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taylor Greenlaw showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph McKinlay in the 80th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Glasgow United FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
