Spectators: 6785 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Boruc Setara got the match started through his kick off. Kevin Reidfurd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duncan Duff in the 5th minute of play. Alisdair McLaine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. John McEoin charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed John McEoin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Kirkcudbright AFC's Kieran Dowe in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ellon's goalie prevented a goal. Kirkcudbright AFC's Josh McGilbert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boruc Setara in the 23rd minute of play. Joe Paul kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, Boruc Setara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Josh McGilbert was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Josh McGilbert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boruc Setara's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kirkcudbright AFC's zone, Lukasz Rokitskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josh McGilbert came out of the goal and Lukasz Rokitskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ellon's Frankie McOwl got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Kirkcudbright AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Setara came free, but Josh McGilbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Gary McGeachin made a precise shot to the right of Josh McGilbert. Kirkcudbright AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duncan Duff was the one to do the kick off. Kevin Reidfurd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duncan Duff in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Boruc Setara dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Josh McGilbert, 0-4. In the 65th minute, Gary McGeachin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Larry Deuchar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josh McGilbert having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Boruc Setara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josh McGilbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Ellon defense, Duncan Duff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Reidfurd. The Ellon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Reidfurd should have stopped the shot. Josh McGilbert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boruc Setara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Kirkcudbright AFC defense, Boruc Setara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Josh McGilbert. The Kirkcudbright AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Josh McGilbert should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Kirkcudbright AFC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Hugh McAldonich hit a great ball. When Boruc Setara came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Ellon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boruc Setara couldn't finish the play. Ellon's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
