Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Wayne Adamson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Drew McLagan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry McAngus having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Skelmorlie's goal looked a bit too open when Derek McCruithein came free, but Terry McAngus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 played minutes Heriot got a freekick which was hit by Drew McLagan. 13 minutes into the match, Heriot's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne Adamson came free, but Elliot McMurdoch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Terry McAngus made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Drew McLagan sent off a good shot on target. Drew McLagan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry McAngus having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Heriot got a freekick which was hit by Ray McIldowie. Derek McCruithein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Terry McAngus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Drew McLagan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Terry McAngus. Skelmorlie's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Drew McLagan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Heriot's Derek McCruithein got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wayne Adamson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliot McMurdoch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Reece McIldowie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliot McMurdoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elliot McMurdoch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wayne Adamson went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Derek McCruithein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Terry McAngus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Derek McCruithein to strike the kick off in the second half. When Reece McIldowie came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Skelmorlie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reece McIldowie couldn't finish the play. If Reece McIldowie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terry McAngus came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Heriot's Derek McCruithein. But to his dismay, Derek McCruithein quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When Wayne Adamson came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Skelmorlie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wayne Adamson couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute, Eddie McGillivantic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Reece McIldowie notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Heriot's Elliot McMurdoch. Elliot McMurdoch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Heriot's zone, Wayne Adamson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliot McMurdoch came out of the goal and Wayne Adamson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Heriot had won after a very even match.
