Elliot McMurdoch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Heriot's Dylan Ronald got a free kick in the 21st minute. Dylan Ronald hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Oliver Henderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliot McMurdoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Dalbeattie booed when Heriot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie McGillivantic didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elliot McMurdoch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Henderson, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Derek McCruithein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean McMurray having to interfere. Heriot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Derek McCruithein was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Derek McCruithein stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Drew McLagan in the 51st minute of play forced Dalbeattie's goalkeeper Dean McMurray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Drew McLagan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean McMurray having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Dalbeattie got a freekick which was hit by Edward Taylor. A hard shot 64 in the game by Drew McLagan from a close distance when the talented Dean McMurray managed to make a qualified save. Dalbeattie's players were relieved. 66 minutes into the game, Oliver Henderson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Elliot McMurdoch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eddie McGillivantic kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Oliver Henderson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 76 minutes, Ray McIldowie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heriot and the Dalbeattie players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Dalbeattie booed when Heriot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ray McIldowie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3-2 became the score in the 80th minute when Derek McCruithein elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Dalbeattie's goalkeeper Dean McMurray had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ray McIldowie. Drew McLagan hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derek McCruithein in the 91st minute of play forced Dalbeattie's goalkeeper Dean McMurray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalbeattie's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
