After a rather tough play, Dalbeattie's Dean Chisholm got a free kick in the 7th minute. Charlie McIan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Henderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dean McMurray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricky McKinley in the 17th minute of the match. When Lewis Combie got free in front of the goal in the 18th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Charlie McIan was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Charlie McIan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis Combie's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Dalbeattie's Dean McMurray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Dalbeattie from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Brian Lees could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Dean McMurray however easily saved by the left post. In the 30th minute, Brian Lees got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oliver Henderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Charlie McIan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Dalbeattie's zone, Brian Lees stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean McMurray came out of the goal and Brian Lees tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute Brian Lees shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean McMurray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th match minute, Dalbeattie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Taylor to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute of the match Paul McWalrick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dean McMurray skillfully saved the ball. Brian Lees fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean McMurray having to interfere. The supporters of Plockton United booed when Dalbeattie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Taylor didn't get a good kick on the ball.
