Spectators: 6783 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Derek McCruithein started the match with the kick off. Graeme Syme's late challenge caught a Heriot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graeme Syme helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes Plockton United got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Syme. 10 minutes into the match, Ricky McKinley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elliot McMurdoch. Heriot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricky McKinley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Lees in the 13th minute of play forced Heriot's goalkeeper Elliot McMurdoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Brian Lees notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Heriot's Elliot McMurdoch. Elliot McMurdoch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 19 minutes, Ricky McKinley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plockton United and the Heriot players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 minutes of play Plockton United's Graeme Syme was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Graeme Syme kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Drew McLagan struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Charlie McIan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heriot. Charlie McIan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derek McCruithein, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Heriot's zone, Ricky McKinley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliot McMurdoch came out of the goal and Ricky McKinley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Charlie McIan managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Heriot's Drew McLagan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Charlie McIan made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Drew McLagan sent off a good shot on target. Drew McLagan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Charlie McIan firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 41st minute, Terry McOnie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The corner led Plockton United's Paul McWalrick to fire away a dangerous shot which Elliot McMurdoch despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dylan Ronald charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dylan Ronald the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dylan Ronald hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Charlie McIan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek McCruithein in the 71st minute of play. In the 75th minute of the game, Eddie Gilmour landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 75 minutes, Derek McCruithein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heriot and the Plockton United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Plockton United booed when Heriot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derek McCruithein didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Terry McOnie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Derek McCruithein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Plockton United getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Terry McOnie hit a great ball. In the 86thth minute of the game Derek McCruithein who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Plockton United's Charlie McIan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Plockton United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
